Perogy House Description

Why buy frozen when home made is right around the corner? Oakville’s very own Perogy House offers the best of traditional Ukrainian, Polish and German dishes. “Everything on our menu is homemade, made with no preservatives and is healthy food,” owner Oksana Herych explains. “We offer fresh, new meals everyday all at a reasonable price.” Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday, the Perogy House has a wide variety of menu items including perogies, dumplings, cabbage rolls, crepes, stuffed chicken, cold cuts and soups, as well as various pastries, cheesecakes and other cakes. “We offer many different types of perogies including potato and cheddar, potato and cottage cheese, sauerkraut and mushroom, sweet cottage cheese, meat, blueberry and strawberry,” she says. “We also sell frozen perogies that you can take home and enjoy.” The Perogy House though new to Oakville, it opened its door in July, is not new to Oksana. “I have another location in Bloor West that has been open for the past six years,” she explains. “We cook everything in house, just as my grandparents did.” To add a little European flavour to your next meal visit the Perogy House located at 2159 Wyecroft Road or call a head for takeout and catering at 905-469-6171.

Perogy Cooking Instructions
Boil - Place Perogyes in a pan of boiling salted water similar to cooking pasta. Heat for 3-5 minutes. Drain Perogy and serve with pieces of fried bacon, onion, or butter.
Shallow Fry - Sauté Perogy in butter until golden brown. When done pour pieces of fried bacon, onions, or butter over cooked perogyes and serve.
Deep Fry - Place Perogy in hot oil for 2-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels and serve with pieces of fried bacon, onions or butter.
